integrating Kate with firefox
I have the firefox add-on for web developers and would like to input the path to the text editor so i can open Kate from my browser. Can someone please show me the path?
I’m a linux nOob, but can assure you Mr Gawater, that it’s the best move I’ve made.
It’s the best system for web development. Just ftp from your file manager. Perfect integration between server and local machine. Bookmark your ftp locations to get straight to the directory you want. Edit files with text editor hot off the server without downloading. Color codes separate code elements from content.
Wish I’d had this 10 years ago instead of F$#%windows and dreamweaver.
Thanks to all you linux geeks and programmers. I’m a convert.

Nice editor
My daily one… Love sessions. Only thing is I don’t always get notified when a file changes from under me! Lost some edits, but that’s what SVN is for. Never use the CVS external tools, but would if there were some svn ones.
Also, would love a button to do ‘set-replace-tabs toggle; set-indent-tabs toggle’ (both on/ both off). Love the cmdline, keep adding to it!
Great work.
I love kate
I really love how it looks in kde4!
Only thing I want is html.erb syntax highlighting. If I could make it myself, I did it myself. But it’s a bit too complicated for me I think.
Cool soft. I use it every
Cool soft. I use it every day )
Thank you so much!
Kate is by far the best editor I know. And most of all it’s been the point for me to migrate from Redmond to Linux. So far I’ve worked with huge HTML monsters to create the websites I’d liked - but nowadays Kate is all I need. Keep on rocking the world! Bernd Müsse from Germany
Eek Unix
Yikes I couldnt imagine managing any of my websites using Linux programs. I think I’m going to stick to my trusty busted Windows XP and Dreamweaver MX :). What linux OS is that anyways? To complicated for me.
